My Art Invest is a new platform where anyone can invest in contemporary art by buying works outright or buying shares. We were tasked with launching My Art Invest in the UK, engaging high-net-worth individuals and contemporary art enthusiasts to generate immediate income. Our research showed many people are nervous about investing in contemporary art because they don’t know if they are getting good value, and perceive shared ownership as complex. Informed by this insight, our media and social campaign focused on the inspiring idea of “Democratising Art” and culminated in an opening party for 700 guests including celebrities. My Art Invest was covered by everyone from Grazia to Time magazine and the BBC, reaching 1.5m people. With PR as the only communications channel, My Art Invest secured more than £100,000 of trades in the first five days of opening and average appreciation in share value since launch has been over 30%.
