In the know – Tourism Trends for 2018 from WTM
9 November 2017
Our feet have finally touched the ground after a busy couple of days at World Travel Market. Over the past three days the team have been busy running the news room for Big Bus Tours launching a ‘game-changing’ app, a Custom Built Zero Emission Electric Bus and new API technology to reduce paper tickets to the world’s travel trade media.
We were also on the KidZania stand assisting the team with arranging briefings with key travel trade press to drive bookings for 2018.
In case you missed WTM this year, here’s what we learnt:
#1 Food tourism is on the rise - hear from Erik Wolf [Founder of World Food Travel Association] and Jean Michel [Co-Founder of Vizeat]on how to curate memorable and unique dining experiences for travellers to drive visits.
#2 Wellness Travel is a half-trillion-dollar market - hear from Susie Ellis [Chairman and CEO of the Global Wellness Institute] on how destinations can harness the world’s fastest growing travel sector.
#3 Chinese independent travellers are the new driving force for retailers and attractions - hear from Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt [Director of COTRI] and Roy Graff [MD EMEA, Dragon Tail] on how businesses can overcome barriers to attract this lucrative visitor market.
