Colliers Green Focus

Commercial real estate leader Colliers International tasked us with developing a programme of real educational value for young people that would make a positive and lasting contribution to the sustainability debate. Our creative response was Colliers Green Focus: a completely new way for young people to explore their local environment through photography, which directly supported the Key Stage 3 Geography curriculum requirement of learning ‘sense of place’. We created the Green Focus Annual Photography Competition, partnering with the Photographers’ Gallery and education consultants to run outdoor workshops at schools across the UK. Workshops were attended by Colliers staff and supported via regional and national PR activity. Winning students were presented with their awards by Green Focus ambassador, TV presenter and wildlife expert Steve Backshall, at events held at RIBA and the Royal Geographical Society and their work was displayed at the Photographers’ Gallery. Over five years the scheme involved 200 secondary schools and more than 5,000 students, while national teacher training events have helped even more teachers to embed the programme within the curriculum.
